“I have always been driven by adventure, wanting to know what is out there? What’s next?” -Mark Gillett

With over 30 years experience in photography Mark was inspired since youth by many people.  Chris Bonnington, Ran Fiennes, Doug Scott, the Apollo missions and Jacques Cousteaux.  Getting up at all hours to watch an Apollo rockets take off was a hobby of his and his hero was his missionary aunt who worked in Burma and then Papua New Guinea.  All this led to explore more, not just in terms of the world but in life. Everyday exploration drives Mark to see the world in this way.

Overwhelmed by the culture difference when Mark arrived in Abu Dhabi to work at the age of 20, he bought his first camera, an Olympus OM20.  Since then, photography has been a way of expressing his passion for the world and the people who inhabit this beautiful planet. Now he spends his time documenting his journeys in places such as Brazilian Amazon, Marathon De Sables, various deserts of Middle East as well as the Yukon Arctic whilst following others on their quests.
